About Maggie Oyola

Registered Clinical Mental Health Intern | Doctor of Psychology Candidate

True North Therapy & Wellness was founded on the belief that people deserve thoughtful, personalized care during life's most challenging seasons. Through compassionate counseling services, Maggie works with adults and couples seeking greater understanding, healthier relationships, and meaningful personal growth.

Whether someone is seeking individual therapy, couples therapy, or support through a major life transition, the focus remains the same: creating a respectful and supportive space where people can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.

A Life Shaped by Service

She served as an Army medic, worked as a first responder, and is the spouse of a retired United States Army Green Beret.

What Guides Our Work

Long before becoming a therapist, Maggie spent much of her life in roles centered around service, responsibility, and helping others through difficult moments. She served as an Army medic, worked as a first responder, and is the spouse of a retired United States Army Green Beret.

Those experiences gave her a firsthand understanding of leadership, sacrifice, operational stress, grief, loss, and the unique challenges that can come with caring for others while managing personal struggles. They also shaped her understanding that strength and suffering often exist side by side.

Respect
Every person's experiences, values, relationships, and life circumstances deserve thoughtful consideration. Effective therapy begins with listening.

Compassion
People often carry burdens that are not visible to others. Care should reflect understanding, patience, and genuine concern for the whole person.

Integrity
Trust is built through honesty, professionalism, ethical care, and a commitment to providing evidence-based support.

Service
Helping others navigate difficult seasons of life remains at the heart of everything we do.

Growth
Therapy is not about perfection. It is about developing greater understanding, building resilience, and creating meaningful change over time.

The HEART Philosophy

At True North Therapy & Wellness, therapy is guided by more than techniques and treatment approaches. It is guided by a belief that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood, respected, and supported.

The HEART Philosophy reflects the values that shape every therapeutic relationship and every conversation.

H — Human Connection
Healing begins with feeling seen. Every person arrives with a unique story, and therapy should honor that individuality with compassion and respect.

E — Emotional Safety
Growth is easier when people have a space where they can speak openly about difficult experiences, thoughts, emotions, and relationships without fear of judgment.

A — Authenticity
Therapy is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about creating room for honest reflection, self-discovery, and meaningful conversations about what truly matters.

R — Resilience
Life will always bring challenges. Therapy can help strengthen the skills, insight, and confidence needed to navigate uncertainty, adversity, and change.

T — Trust
A strong therapeutic relationship is built on consistency, respect, professionalism, and genuine care. Trust creates the foundation that allows meaningful work to happen.

The HEART Philosophy serves as a reminder that therapy is not simply about addressing problems. It is about creating a supportive environment where people can better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
